WOMEN IN FILM
I love a good documentary. Especially documentaries created featuring women and even more exciting, women who are over 40. For women seeking inspiration, particularly those navigating midlife and beyond, a wealth of powerful films showcase the journeys of remarkable women who have defied societal expectations and lived life on their own terms. I wouldn’t steer you wrong. I have watched all of the docs featured and would not steer you wrong. These are the lives and experiences of accomplished women who’ve had tremendous highs and desperate lows.
These documentaries collectively paint a picture of women who have embraced life's challenges and emerged stronger, wiser, and more authentic. They demonstrate that love, in all its forms, is not something to fear but to embrace. However, they also show that true happiness often comes from standing on one's own feet and discovering one's own path. For single women challenging societal norms about marriage, these stories offer powerful affirmation. They remind us that a woman's worth is not defined by her marital status, but by her courage to live authentically and pursue her passions. These fiery women serve as arbiters of change, inspiring others to live boldly, embrace new challenges, and redefine success on their own terms. Their journeys remind us that life's most profound lessons and greatest joys often come when we have the courage to stand alone, discover our true selves, and live life fully and unapologetically.
I find so much inspiration in these stories. As it starts to cool down as we spend time indoors our media consumption increases. If you find yourself home and looking for some comfort TV that isn’t depressing. Do yourself a favor and enjoy something inspiring! Here is a list of my most recent faves and they’re all streaming!
