YEAH, NAH!
This is a Michelle Obama appreciation post.
In recent years, Michelle Obama has emerged as a powerful voice, unafraid to stand apart from traditional political expectations. The former First Lady has been making waves with her actions and choices, subtly yet firmly expressing her stance on the current political landscape. Michelle Obama is “standing on business” and “she said wha she said.” The rac/pist , carrot colored jello mold jiggling his way back into the White House for a second term is more than a menace, he is a monster. Think Jabba the Hut, The Blob unscrupulous covering everything and everyone in his vicinity with corruption and goo.
Michelle Obama represents the 92% of Black women who for decades have upheld the democratic party and a nation who would rather see us dead …
Michelle Obama decidedly and with fortitude has decided not to participate in the tight lipped, ceremonial orange washing and downward spiral of America. Michelle told us “when they go low, we go high” and we did for a 8 years. That sentiment has ended and Michelle Obama is basically telling us, I am an independent woman, my thoughts and actions are separate from my husband's former role as Commander and Chief so - "get somebody else to do it!" There is a new precedent and it appears to have started with Michelle Obama sitting out of former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral services. Where she, by seating tradition would have been sandwiched between her husband and the sadistic, homoerotic (Arnold Palmer and the microphone gesture) racist, emotionally retarded, dunderhead, malignant narcissist that lied about her husband for the better part of a decade and motivated his own supporters to have bombs sent to their home.
Let’s take an accurate look back Michelle Obama is breaking with tradition but not precedent. In contrast, the Trumps for completely distasteful and petty reasons skipped Biden's inauguration all together. Perhaps it’s because they did not want to be seen at the scene of the crime. Michelle Obama represents the 92% of Black women who for decades have upheld the democratic party and a nation who would rather see us dead (see Black women's maternal health outcomes, Black maternal mortality, Black women face excessive aggressions in the workplace, Black women less likely to survive police encounters, adultification of Black girls.)
"get somebody else to do it!"
Michelle Obama's support for Kamala Harris makes it all the more painful to observe. The 92% feels her pain. During the campaign and her unabashed disdain from that rotting mango in bad rags is apparent and it remains. She's made it clear that her thoughts and actions are separate from her husband's former role as President, a stance popular among independent women and those who value authenticity, independence, critical thinking and autonomy in public figures. Michelle Obama continues to advocate for critical issues such as maternal health, workplace equality, and social justice. Her approach aligns with the growing sentiment that diverse voices, particularly those of women, need to be heard and heeded in political discourse. From her roots in Chicago to her global influence today, Michelle Obama remains a compelling figure. Her willingness to break from convention when it aligns with her principles continues to fuel her global adoration.
All hail Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama, “girl from the Southside”, Forever FLOTUS and Queen of Hearts.
While America navigates complex political times, Michelle Obama's approach offers an outline for engaging with integrity - or not at all. She shows that it's possible to maintain one's principles while still contributing to the national conversation. Michelle Obama is not a follower but a leader reminding us that public service and self preservation can take many forms, and sometimes, the most impactful stance is felt in one’s absence. All hail Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama, “girl from the Southside”, Forever FLOTUS and Queen of Hearts.
